A little History

Property built in 1760 by the merchant Philippe Jacques Hummel and Marie Elisabeth Demuth

In 1789, Jean David Fleischhauer set up the A l'Aigle brewery here, which remained open until the beginning of the second half of the 19th century. After moving a few metres up the road to 19 rue des Bouchers, the brewery made way for the Walb et Heerlein company, which specialised in the production of surgical instruments, and also the Heupel factory, which manufactured walking sticks and umbrellas.

The gated door and the balcony were inscribed in the Register of Historical Monuments on June 25, 1929. The keystone appears to represent the Easter lamb with its pennant.

In 1930, the furniture store Pierre De Jong was installed for 60 years. The restaurant owner and inventor of the seafood "choucroute"  Guy Pierre Baumann bought the building in 1990 to transform it into a hotel.
After 2 years of work, Le Beaucour opened its 49 rooms in May of  1992

Since 2005 the hotel is run by his daughter Claire-Lise who perpetuates Beaucour's motto: "Our home is your home"
